The Maine Department of Transportation (ME-DOT) selected Bradstreet Consultants, Inc. to provide highly accurate photogrammetric mapping. BCI will map the corridors off the Maine Turnpike and Route 202 in the City of Auburn.
The purpose of the project is to study the area for a connecting route between route 202 and I-95 (Maine Turnpike). Bradstreet Consultants will provide planimetric and topographic map data at a scale of 1:1,000 with 0.5-meter contours. The digital map data will form the basis for ME-DOT's MOSS GDS digital terrain modeling system as well as their MicroStation transportation design software. This particular project will leverage airborne (kinematic) GPS controlled aerial photography. Using new technologies such as Airborne GPS will lower the amount of surveyed ground control needed, thereby cutting overall costs and delivery times to design and construction firms.
